About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 200 × 146 cm. The covered area is about 2.92 m² (6.6' × 4.8'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Materials and construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 8 mm.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
How it reads
The stated colourway is blue / Türkis. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
