Origin Iran, format 209 × 207 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. That is roughly 4.33 m² of floor, about 6.9' × 6.8'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.

Materials and construction

Pile material is given as 100% new wool, warp as 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.

The rug is square. Large enough to hold a full seating group.

The stated knot density is 900,000–999,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
