Square, and single-medallion

Two centimetres separate the sides, so this reads as square. That is the ideal format for a Tak Gardeh drawing: a single central medallion with no corner pieces needs a field that is balanced on both axes, and a square gives it exactly that. On a long rug the same composition has to be stretched, and the medallion stops sitting naturally in its space.

The weave
