Overview
A Nain from Iran, measuring 263 × 310 cm. That is roughly 8.15 m² of floor, about 8.6' × 10.2'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Construction
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. Construction method: hand-knotted.
Where it fits
The rug is square. A large format for open-plan rooms or formal reception spaces.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 900,000–999,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
Colour and appearance
It is catalogued under blue / Türkis. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
