About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 295 × 194 cm. That is roughly 5.72 m² of floor, about 9.7' × 6.4'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Materials and construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool, silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 8 mm.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
