Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 296 × 392 cm. That is roughly 11.6 m² of floor, about 9.7' × 12.9'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Construction
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
Colour and appearance
It is catalogued under Weiß / beige. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
