About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 60 × 125 cm. The covered area is about 0.75 m² (2' × 4.1'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
What it is made of
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Where it fits
A small format, at home in a hallway, beside a bed, or in front of a bench.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 700,000–799,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
How it reads
It is catalogued under multicolour. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
