The piece in short
Origin Iran, format 79 × 115 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. That is roughly 0.91 m² of floor, about 2.6' × 3.8'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
What it is made of
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
Small enough to sit in front of a dresser or just inside a door.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 900,000–999,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as blue / Türkis. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
