Overview
Origin Iran, format 86 × 127 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 1.09 m² (2.8' × 4.2'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
What it is made of
Pile material is given as 100% new wool, warp as 100% cotton. Construction method: hand-knotted.
Where it fits
Small enough to sit in front of a dresser or just inside a door.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 900,000–999,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
How it reads
It is catalogued under Weiß / beige. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
