Origin Iran, format 91 × 129 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. That is roughly 1.17 m² of floor, about 3' × 4.2'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.

Materials and construction

The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. Construction method: hand-knotted.

Format and use

The rug is rectangular. Small enough to sit in front of a dresser or just inside a door.

Knot density and quality

The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.

How it reads

The stated colourway is blue / Türkis. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
