Overview
Origin China, format 128 × 183 cm — a Qom made entirely by hand. That is roughly 2.34 m² of floor, about 4.2' × 6'. Qom is known for very finely knotted rugs, often in silk.
What it is made of
Construction: 100% silk in the pile over a 100% silk foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Size and placement
A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 800,000–899,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
Colour and appearance
The stated colourway is Weiß / beige. Silk takes light differently from wool, so the same area can look pale from one side and deep from the other.
