Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Qom of 132 × 203 cm. The covered area is about 2.68 m² (4.3' × 6.7'). Qom is known for very finely knotted rugs, often in silk.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
