Overview
A Qom from Iran, measuring 148 × 223 cm. The covered area is about 3.3 m² (4.9' × 7.3'). Qom is known for very finely knotted rugs, often in silk.
Construction
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. Construction method: hand-knotted.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as Weiß / beige. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
