About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Qom of 230 × 338 cm. The covered area is about 7.77 m² (7.5' × 11.1'). Qom is known for very finely knotted rugs, often in silk.
Materials and construction
Pile material is given as 100% new wool, warp as 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
Age
Stated condition: ca. 50 Jahre.
