Overview
Origin Iran, format 64 × 93 cm — a Qom made entirely by hand. That is roughly 0.6 m² of floor, about 2.1' × 3.1'. Qom is known for very finely knotted rugs, often in silk.
Materials and construction
The pile is 100% silk, on a warp of 100% silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Size and placement
At this size it works as an entryway mat or a bedside rug.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 900,000–999,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
Colour and appearance
The stated colourway is Weiß / beige. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
