Overview
Origin Iran, format 81 × 443 cm — a Qom made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 3.59 m² (2.7' × 14.5'). Qom is known for very finely knotted rugs, often in silk.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. Construction method: hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 10-12mm.
Format and use
At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as multicolour. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Period
Stated condition: new.
