The piece in short
A Sarouk from Iran, measuring 293 × 540 cm. That is roughly 15.82 m² of floor, about 9.6' × 17.7'. Sarouk rugs are known for dense knotting and floral motifs.
What it is made of
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
On the colourway
It is catalogued under red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
