About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Sarouk of 304 × 407 cm. It covers approximately 12.37 m², or 10' × 13.4'. Sarouk rugs are known for dense knotting and floral motifs.
Construction
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
Colour and appearance
It is catalogued under red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Age and condition
Stated condition: ca. 100 Jahre.
