Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Shiraz of 171 × 248 cm. The covered area is about 4.24 m² (5.6' × 8.1'). Shiraz rugs come from a nomadic weaving tradition.
What it is made of
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Format and use
Large enough to hold a full seating group.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². This knot density balances pattern definition against hard-wearing construction.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
