About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Shiraz of 295 × 180 cm. That is roughly 5.31 m² of floor, about 9.7' × 5.9'. Shiraz rugs come from a nomadic weaving tradition.
Materials and construction
Pile material is given as wool, warp as cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Weight is given as ap. 16 kg.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
On the colourway
It is catalogued under red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
Age and condition
Stated age: antique. In a rug of this age, patina and some pile loss belong to the picture.
