The piece in short
Origin Iran, format 349 × 246 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. It covers approximately 8.59 m², or 11.5' × 8.1'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. A large format for open-plan rooms or formal reception spaces.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
On the colourway
It is catalogued under blue / Türkis. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Period
Stated condition: made 1970–1979.
