About this rug
A Tabriz from India, measuring 250 × 297 cm. It covers approximately 7.43 m², or 8.2' × 9.7'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. A large format for open-plan rooms or formal reception spaces.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
How it reads
The stated colourway is multicolour. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
