Overview
Hand-knotted in India: a Tabriz of 253 × 348 cm. That is roughly 8.8 m² of floor, about 8.3' × 11.4'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
