The piece in short
This Tabriz comes from Pakistan and measures 125 × 185 cm. It covers approximately 2.31 m², or 4.1' × 6.1'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. Construction method: hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Age and condition
Stated condition: new.
