Overview
Origin Iran, format 100 × 152 cm — a Tabriz made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 1.52 m² (3.3' × 5'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Construction: 100% Schurwolle mit Seide in the pile over a 100% silk foundation. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. This size typically covers the floor in front of a seating group.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
On the colourway
It is catalogued under Weiß / beige. Silk takes light differently from wool, so the same area can look pale from one side and deep from the other.
