About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 102 × 157 cm. The covered area is about 1.6 m² (3.3' × 5.2'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Pile material is given as 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, warp as 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as Weiß / beige. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
