About this rug
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 140 × 200 cm. That is roughly 2.8 m² of floor, about 4.6' × 6.6'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Pile material is given as 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, warp as 100% cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as multicolour. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
