Overview
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 173 × 256 cm. The covered area is about 4.43 m² (5.7' × 8.4'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. Construction method: hand-knotted.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². This knot density balances pattern definition against hard-wearing construction.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
