The piece in short
This Tabriz comes from Iran and measures 185 × 268 cm. That is roughly 4.96 m² of floor, about 6.1' × 8.8'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
On the colourway
The stated colourway is Braun / Gelb. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
