Overview
This Tabriz comes from Iran and measures 199 × 299 cm. That is roughly 5.95 m² of floor, about 6.5' × 9.8'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Construction
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
How it reads
It is catalogued under red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
