About this rug
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 200 × 315 cm. It covers approximately 6.3 m², or 6.6' × 10.3'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Pile material is given as 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, warp as 100% silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 700,000–799,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as Braun / Gelb. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
