About this rug
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 201 × 321 cm. That is roughly 6.45 m² of floor, about 6.6' × 10.5'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. Construction method: hand-knotted.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 800,000–899,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
