Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 203 × 310 cm. That is roughly 6.29 m² of floor, about 6.7' × 10.2'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Construction
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
