About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 207 × 212 cm. It covers approximately 4.39 m², or 6.8' × 7'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% cotton. Construction method: hand-knotted.
Size and placement
The rug is square. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
How it reads
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
