Overview
This Tabriz comes from Iran and measures 208 × 306 cm. The covered area is about 6.36 m² (6.8' × 10'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Construction: 100% Schurwolle mit Seide in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Size and placement
Large enough to hold a full seating group.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 600,000–699,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
How it reads
The stated colourway is red and orange. Silk takes light differently from wool, so the same area can look pale from one side and deep from the other.
