Overview
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 208 × 308 cm. It covers approximately 6.41 m², or 6.8' × 10.1'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. Construction method: hand-knotted.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². This knot density balances pattern definition against hard-wearing construction.
How it reads
Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
