Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 246 × 343 cm. That is roughly 8.44 m² of floor, about 8.1' × 11.3'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

Materials and construction

Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.

The rug is rectangular. A large format for open-plan rooms or formal reception spaces.

Fineness of the knotting

The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.

How it reads

It is catalogued under red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
