Overview
Origin Iran, format 250 × 350 cm — a Tabriz made entirely by hand. That is roughly 8.75 m² of floor, about 8.2' × 11.5'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Construction
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
Colour and appearance
The stated colourway is red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
