The piece in short

Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 255 × 185 cm. The covered area is about 4.72 m² (8.4' × 6.1'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

What it is made of

Pile material is given as Handgesponnene Wolle, warp as cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Weight is given as approx. 16 kg.

Size and placement

The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.

On the knot count

The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.

On the colourway

The stated colourway is multicolour. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
