About this rug
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 256 × 346 cm. It covers approximately 8.86 m², or 8.4' × 11.4'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
How it reads
It is catalogued under red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
