About this rug
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 262 × 353 cm. That is roughly 9.25 m² of floor, about 8.6' × 11.6'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
