Overview
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 299 × 399 cm. That is roughly 11.93 m² of floor, about 9.8' × 13.1'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Construction
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
How it reads
It is catalogued under blue / Türkis, multicolour. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
