Materials and construction
Construction: Handgesponnene Wolle in the pile over a cotton foundation. Construction method: hand-knotted. Weight is given as approx. 18 kg.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
Condition
Stated age: antique. In a rug of this age, patina and some pile loss belong to the picture.
