Overview
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 365 × 275 cm. That is roughly 10.04 m² of floor, about 12' × 9'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Stated material: new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 14mm.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
How it reads
It is catalogued under green / Oliv. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Age
Stated condition: 21st century.
