Overview
This Tabriz comes from Iran and measures 83 × 320 cm. It covers approximately 2.66 m², or 2.7' × 10.5'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Size and placement
The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
How it reads
It is catalogued under Weiß / beige. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
