About this rug
Origin Iran, format 312 × 218 cm — a Tabriz made entirely by hand. That is roughly 6.8 m² of floor, about 10.2' × 7.2'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is under 200,000 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
How it reads
The stated colourway is Weiß / beige. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Period
Stated condition: made 1970–1979.
