Overview
A Hamadan, Herati from Iran, measuring 101 × 150 cm. It covers approximately 1.52 m², or 3.3' × 4.9'. Hamadan rugs are typically sturdy and geometrically patterned.
Construction
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Size and placement
A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
How it reads
It is catalogued under multicolour. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
