About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Isfahan of 267 × 368 cm. It covers approximately 9.83 m², or 8.8' × 12.1'. Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.
Materials and construction
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 700,000–799,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
