Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 158 × 156 cm. It covers approximately 2.46 m², or 5.2' × 5.1'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Construction
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is square. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 900,000–999,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
