Origin Iran, format 164 × 256 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. It covers approximately 4.2 m², or 5.4' × 8.4'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.

Construction

The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.

The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.

Knot density and quality

The stated knot density is 900,000–999,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.

Colour and appearance

It is catalogued under blue / Türkis. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
